We are glad about the fact that you have selected the homepage of the municipality of Schipkau, and welcome on the heartiest. Their decision, itself with us "einzuklicken", was right, because here you expect information about a municipality which changes from a mining region to a motor sport and tourism region. In the following we would like to fancy at first briefly.
The municipality of Schipkau lies in the midst of the town triangle Cottbus-Dresden and is in the south of the country Brandenburg near the Saxon land border and counts Oberspreewald Lusatia to the administrative district. Schipkau borders to the west on the capital town mountain Senften. In the south the chemical town is a black moor with the BASF Schwarzheide GmbH our next neighbour. The surface size of the municipality amounts to 68.6 km².
The districts Anna's hut, Drochow, Hörlitz, Klettwitz, Meuro and Schipkau with a total of 7.342 inhabitants (1/2010) count to the municipality. The management is in the district of Klettwitz. They reach our municipality best of all above the highway A 13 with her connection point Klettwitz. From Dresden the journey time amounts 45 minutes and from Berlin one hour.
Furthermore several well developed land routes as well as are in the municipal area - in the neighbouring municipalities - the federal highways B 96, B 156 and B 169. By local travelling round built anew mountain Senften the Schipkauer district of Hörlitz has a direct connection with the new federal highway B 169.
The airfield Schipkau / black moor counts to the municipal area furthermore. Our municipality lies in the midst of the low Lusatians brown coal region. Here began about 1870 the support of the brown coal which led more than 100 years away to a complete change the before agriculturally stamped low lukewarm seat.
After running out of the brown-coal mining we distinguish ourselves as a location of the motor sport, the trade close to car, as a test - and technology location as well as as a living - and service region in the Green. The change is in full way - constantly new originates in the low lukewarm seat, the biggest trades - and scenery building site of Europe.
Besides, the first results are worthy of notice. In summer, 2000 opened of the EuroSpeedway to Lusatia as a multifunctional racing sport - entertainment - and test arrangement his gates. Right next to it the centre DEKRA Technology with a very modern checking - and test arrangement is since May, 2003 present. Other properties are ready in high quality and with low price of prospective customer.
Another landmark of our municipality is the wind park Klettwitz in which for several years more than 50 wind energy arrangements generate absolutely freely of pollutant electric energy for several ten thousand households.
Also in future Lusatia will win even more in attraction. Between Spreewald and EuroSpeedway Lusatia the Lusatian sea country, Europe the biggest "artificial" water scenery and fourth largest sea area of Germany originates during the next twenty years.
Contemplative silence and green sceneries beside international racing sport atmosphere - where this lies, otherwise, so close together? Only here with us - in Schipkau.
